The first bank, R.P. Henry Bank, was founded in 1899 near the southeast corner of the town square. On February 27, 1934, the infamous Bonnie & Clyde robbed the R.P. Henry Bank and made their way to a getaway car on Malloy Bridge Road. They escaped with over $4000.
